The Morningstar Investment Research Center database, made possible by the SmartInvesting grant, provides valuable information available from all branches and remotely with a New Haven Free Public Library card.

Few topics are of greater concern to folks 50+ than financial security. The library received a grant from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)  Investor Education Foundation and the American Libarary Association (ALA) for a program called Smart Investing@Your Library®.  The FINRA Investor Education Foundation supports innovative research and educational projects that give underserved Americans the knowledge, skills and tools necessary for financial success throughout life.

The FINRA Investor Education Foundation is collaborating with the American Library Association to help build the capacity of public libraries to provide effective, unbiased investor education.

As a result of the grant, the library will integrate financial literacy resources (including FINRA modules and research), discussion groups and programming as permanent features of the 50+ Transition Center. Aimed at adults who are exploring their pre- and post-retirement options, the program will cover all aspects of investor education.  We have partnered with community organizations to expand the i
mpact of the services and resources enabled by the grant.
